Six of the Most Expensive Celebrity Car Collections in the World

Owning nice cars is a luxury for most but a pre requisite if you’re a celebrity. And who can blame them? Practically every last dollar of my measly paycheck goes right back into my 1969 Pontiac GTO. But to the wealthy it is yet another opportunity to indulge in life’s most fascinating hobbies in the world. From NFL Wide Receiver Antonio Brown’s insanely sick custom Steelers Rolls Royce Phantom to Black Eyed Peas frontman’s $700k customized gull-winged DeLorean, celebrities ride in style. But, these one-offs are not enough for the true automobile collector; and when you have money, you just need more. Below, are some of the most expensive, crazy-cool celebrity car collections in the world. They may not be the most expensive (the Sultan of Brunei comes to mind), but they are sure to turn heads. From exotics, rare classics, hot rods, super cars, you name it and these celebrity car connoisseurs have their garages filled with unbelievable cars that most motorsports enthusiasts can only dream of.

1. Jay Leno:

Jay Leno is probably the most passionate celebrity car collector we can think of. Not only does he own 130 vehicles in his California “Big Dog Garage”, but he personally enjoys driving every vehicle he owns. Even though he is worth around $350 Million, he also doesn’t mind getting a little greasy and has been known to turn a wrench or two. Jay truly is a “car guy” with an appreciation for a broad spectrum of car genres. From his 1986 Lamborghini Countach, to his 1909 Stanley Steamer, Jay appreciates American classics, early horseless carriages, custom one-off’s, and foreign exotics. A few highlights of his extensive collection include a 1955 Buick Roadmaster (that he has owned since 1972), a 1937 Fiat Topolino, Blastolene Special (Tank Car), a McClaren F1 a Mercedes 300SL Gullwing, and a GM concept car called the EcoJet.

2. Ralph Lauren:

Mr. Lauren is worth a lot of money, $7.1 Billion to be more specific. With that kind of money he can afford to have a very rare and very expensive collection of vintage roadsters. His collection matches the image of his clothing lines: classic and elegant. Although pieces of his collection sometimes show up in his clothing advertisements, he personally doesn’t spend a lot of time with his automobiles. This is a shame, as the car collection includes some very choice specimens including a 1938 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic (One of only 2 in the world), a 1958 Ferarri Testarosa, a 1938 Alfa Romeo Mille Miglia and a 1929 Bentley Blower. His Bugatti alone is estimated to be worth over $40 Million and won the concorso d’eleganza villa d’este Most Prestigious Car award.
